Carbon sequestration - Environmental Health - Clean Water - Native Plantings
This work also improves water infiltration and retention, and support diverse plant communities. These practices can reduce erosion and runoff, increase carbon sequestration, and create habitat for wildlife. By working with natural ecological processes rather than against them, we help sanctuaries create more resilient landscapes that support rescued animals while contributing to the health of the environment.
The animals at sanctuaries came from somewhere. Most came from systems that treated them as units, not lives. Our work helps the land - restoring soil, water, and habitat so the sanctuary can sustain itself and the lives it protects.
